The Main Lodge with its spacious lounge and restaurant is positioned on a wooden platform, a marvellous place from which to observe the Sand River.
In the Shangaan language, Singita means "wonder", a reference to the wonderful surroundings.
Wondrous seclusion and pleasant tranquillity surround the Main Lodge from all sides.

Fireplaces built into stone walls and pointed slate gables blend harmoniously into the surroundings.

Cradled in the lively surroundings of the game reserve, a solid wooden staircase snakes its way over a deep gully to the Main Lodge. This is the transition into a world of elegance and luxury, the bridge to memories of a past era.
Whether by the large communal pool or on one of the cosy outside terraces, oases of relaxation are to be found everywhere. Here, you can plan your next adventure. A safari to the Big Five, for example, a tour by sunset or an exciting nocturnal safari.

The Main Lodge, similar to the exquisite entrance hall of an enormous luxury barn with its pointed gables, heavy, wooden lengthwise and crosswise beams and a straw-covered roof, invites its guests to linger awhile.
Under the sun’s gentle rays during the day or on an idyllic evening by the fire, too, the cheerful mix of colours of the furniture, fabrics and sculptures glow merrily. Mighty candelabras give the robust atmosphere a touch of playful extravagance. .

It’s as if you are filling up on adventure and sun in a safe haven. The brilliant colours of the furniture, fabrics and décor embedded in fine ebony woods and warm earthy tones give a special feeling of warmth, tranquillity and security.
The furnishings in the interiors of the Main Lodge are also gorgeous. Everything is cheerful, everything is arranged perfectly.

In the Ebony, they know how to use colour to transform rooms. Strategically placed hunting trophies evoke martial sensations when you look at them.

The indoor restaurant welcomes its guest in classic game lodge style. Like an impressive sundial, traditional hunting tools glow above the blazing fire in the hearth. In the evening, typical South African wall paintings make the day’s experiences come alive once again.
Natural building materials and the cheerful colours of Africa give the luxurious double suites an inimitable flair.

You can enjoy an array of colours and comfort behind the protective walls made of boulders from the river, smoothed and rounded by nature.

A stay in the fascinating world of the Ebony inspires the soul and sharpens the senses. If you feel like it, you can record your impressions at any time in bright colours. Brushes and a paint-box are at the ready. From the comfortable observation platform, you have a direct view of the Sand River. With your eyes fixed on the wilderness, a photographic memory develops. In this way, you can shoot a lot of motifs in your thoughts without being armed at all.
Surrounded by the bush thicket with its marvellous knobthorn and jackalberry trees, the straw-covered roofs blend naturally into the surroundings like exquisite tree-houses.

The cosy living room has its own effect on your soul. While perhaps having another glance at the expanse of nature, already in the interior you can enjoy the art, culture and liveliness of Africa in a very special atmosphere.

A truly regal bedchamber - you can hardly describe the impressive bedroom decoration in any other way. Tall ceilings, under them a brilliant white canopy framed in elegant ebony. It’s homage to antique luxury and timeless elegance. Here you can dream of foregone times, of today and tomorrow. And in your dreams, look forward with excitement and expectation to tomorrow, to a breakfast fit for a king or the next safari.

A bit of art nouveau, a bit of art deco. A washing stand in colonial style. A truly genuine mix of cultures.
The decoration of the Ebony is like a short lesson in the theory of colours. What contrasts with what and how can you create powerful accents harmoniously?
