Completely sheltered from the infamous south-westerly winds, the Les Cascades hotel lies right on a hillside at the foot of Lion’s Head: it’s a top-class, five-star hotel with a total of 10 suites, all with an uninterrupted view across the Atlantic. It’s not without good reason that this luxury hotel, in close proximity to the renowned Clifton district, is one of the best addresses in South Africa.

The architecture is an original mixture of modern and classic elements with a studio character. Light-coloured walls, wood stained in dark colours, high window fronts and terraces made from Indian slate give this hotel its remarkable exclusiveness.

Cradled between the sky and the land, sheltered niches invite you to spend a leisurely hour or two there. Time to enjoy a festival of colours together with light refreshments.

Float through the water as if borne on clouds - each of the three floors in Les Cascades has its own pool edged in black.

Typical South African wooden figures can be found everywhere in the country. Yet it’s rare that they are as beautiful as these. Then again, simply everything in Les Cascades is perfect.

The golden rays of twilight give the spacious sun decks a special radiance. Now the warm, earthy tones of the natural materials used to make them stand out particularly well. This is the time you’ll love to spend by the pool or on your private balcony, gazing at the vastness of the surroundings or the reflections in the water, enjoying the hotel’s sheltered atmosphere and simply letting your mind wander. It’s nice to know that you’ve got simply everything here.

Luscious greenery offers natural protection. Here, uninterrupted views of the Atlantic are combined with the certainty of absolute privacy.

An angular wooden staircase leads up to the villa from the main lodge. This exclusive guest-house is a self-contained unit and can also be rented en-bloc. All four suites come up to the high standards in the main building.
In contrast to the modern architecture of the upper floors, the villa made of sandstone, wood and with a pitched roof seems rather traditional. A classically timeless style is characteristic of the interior furnishings, too. On the terrace, a rim flow pool invites you to spend restful hours in the open air.

You’ll find different cultural influences harmoniously arranged side by side in the hotel’s interior decoration. Balinese influences, modern African art and exclusive European lifestyle complement one another stylishly.

Els and Luc Deschouwer have every reason to be pleased. They know that they understand their guests. In the truest sense of the word. After all, they speak fluent English, German, French and Dutch.
The warm, natural tones of the exterior can again be found in the lounge where pale-coloured walls create harmonious contrasts to the dark ceilings. The Kudu leather upholstery is very comfortable to sit in. The thing to do now is to sink cosily into the cushions and let exquisite objets d’art inspire you. A fire burning in the hearth and the day draws to a perfect close. Especially when your friendly hosts serve you their excellent South African wines.

A familiar atmosphere prevails overall in Les Cascades. That’s why guests also enjoy having breakfast together round a big table.

The interior, too, has a terraced shape and the spacious rooms open not only outwards but also upwards. You’ll find complete tranquillity and security everywhere in the private rooms. With their subtle colours, they offer a pleasant atmosphere throughout.
Typical African paintings tell stories of adventures in the jungle. Your head resting on soft feather pillows, covered in fine linen sheets, surrounded by rare woods, you can easily fall asleep, dream and gently slumber until the new day dawns. With a fresh sea breeze blowing through your window, restful sleep is guaranteed.

A fine ceiling construction decorates the inside of the upper rooms. Wooden components contrast wonderfully with the delicate white and beige of the walls.
There are many places to bathe in Les Cascades - in the sea, in the pool or in the complete privacy of your own luxury bathtub. If you prefer, there’s a separate shower for you to use too. Or enjoy the sunny side of life with tasty refreshments on your own terrace.
